Steger Säge Tiers / Tires Infopoint

The Steger sawmill is located in Weißlahnbad / Bagni di Lavina Bianca at the entrance to Tierser Tschamintal / Ciamin valley, Schlern-Rosengarten / Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park Infopoint. The facility was renovated some years ago and the sawmill is now again ready for use. 

The sawmill and the restored sawmill manager’s living quarters bear testimony to Alpine culture and the Alpine tradition of craftsmanship. New exhibits and other informational elements have also been installed, including the following: an audio exhibit that provides information concerning the sawmill; a birdcall station; a film cubicle; a visitor information system; and information concerning the park’s fauna and flora. A geology exhibit has also been realized in a separate room on the upper level of the sawmill living quarters.
